Jay Brodala

Jay Joshua Brodala passed away on July 29, 2025, at the age of 35. Born on July 20, 1990, in

Phoenix, Arizona, Jay was a bright spirit who brought joy, laughter, and fierce loyalty to

everyone he met.

Jay’s laughter was unforgettable—contagious in the best way—and he had a gift for lifting others

up even during his own hardest days. He shared a deep bond with his cousins and loved them

dearly. Family meant everything to him.

He faced life’s challenges with courage and honesty, including a long battle with addiction,

which he ultimately overcame with strength and determination. Though he lived with a heart

condition and a defibrillator, Jay never let it define him. He met every obstacle with grit,

resilience, and a full heart.

Jay is survived by his loving mother and father, who were constant sources of support and pride

throughout his life.

He will be remembered not just for the battles he fought, but for the love he gave, the joy he

spread, and the unwavering spirit he carried through it all.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, August 5th from 1pm to 2pm with a memorial gathering starting at 12:30pm at Hansen Mortuary 8314 N. 7th Street Phoenix, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made

to organizations supporting addiction recovery. Jay was passionate about thebarbellsavesproject.org. His Uncle Steve and Aunt Wende are deeply involved in this organization and will continue their work with this organization in Jay’s honor.
