Jan Beyerlein
- June 27, 2025

Jan Marie Beyerlein passed away in her sleep 24 June 2025, at home with her caregiver husband and their two cats. She was born in 1956 and raised in Watertown, WI, as the only child of Severt and Ruby (Jenson) Krogan who both preceded her in death.
Jan served in the US Army from 1974 to 1980 as a SP5 stock control specialist in Germany and Fort Huachuca, AZ. In 1989 she received her Bachelor of Science degree at Northern Arizona University. She volunteered with the Arizona Rangers while in AZ. She also worked as a government supply/logistics contractor in the Sinai during peace talks and in the Pacific at the Kwajalein Missile Range. Jan was a life member of the American Legion, DAV, and VVA.
After returning to WI, she worked in the Watertown and Waukesha area. She was recruited into the Waukesha Composite Squadron of Civil Air Patrol where she met Bruce Beyerlein and they were married in 1996. In 1999 she received a birthday present of her husband’s left kidney at Froedert Hospital after being on dialysis due to PKD. The VA’s Home Based Care team provided her with excellent care after travel became too difficult. She enjoyed beading and jewelry making until Corticobasal Syndrome made that difficult.
In place of flowers, please consider donations to the National Kidney Foundation, DAV, Froedert Hospital, or a veteran’s charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 380 Bluemound Road, Waukesha (Hwy J&JJ, 4 Blocks South of I-94)
Inurnment will be at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove at a later date.
