James Witt

James (Jim) Witt, 82, passed away peacefully in his home in McHenry, IL on June 27th with his family at his bedside. For 53 years, he was a devoted husband to Patricia (Patti). They were married on October 21,1972 at St. Paul church in Skokie. He leaves 3 children, Shari Ladd (Jason), Jodi Kunz (Matthew), and Randy Witt (Kelly). He had 7 grandchildren, Taylor Witt, Ashley Lewis-Daniel, Maddie Witt, William and James Kunz, Quintin and Zachary Witt and 4 great grandchildren, Eliana Ortiz, Ezekiel and Zion Lewis-Daniel, and Jarad Witt. A loving brother and uncle to his sister Charlotte Bowers (Witt) and nephew Terence Bowers.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Caroline Witt and his father James T. Witt Sr.

Jim was an avid teaching coach for his children and attended as many games as he could for his children and grandchildren and reveled in all their accomplishments. He was a part time police officer for Arlington Heights Police Department for 20 years and an elder in his church.

A visitation will be held at Zion Lutheran Church 4206 W. Elm St. McHenry, IL. on Tuesday, July 1st from 4:00-6:00 to with a service immediately following the visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (www.themmrf.org) would be appreciated.
