James Snead

A Memorial Service celebrating the life of James A. “Jim” Snead will be held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the chapel of Gallagher Funeral Home, Ball, Louisiana.

A Time of Reflection will begin at 10:00 AM and will be led by longtime Chief Engineer for KALB, Phillip Taylor.

Mr. Snead, age 70, of Alexandria, passed away at his residence on September 18, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin E. Snead and George Ina Shipman Snead, and by his brothers, Bryon Snead and Larry Snead.

Jim was a gifted artist with a passion for creativity. He was able to incorporate his ingenuity into his profession for nearly 45 years with local television station KALB. Jim began his career drawing graphics for newscasts. Over the years, he held many positions with the station, including graphic artist and camera operator, and he concluded his career as a Master Control Operator.

Jim was kind to all who knew him, enjoyed the company of his “work family,” and had a knack for telling people exactly what they needed to hear, right when they needed to hear it.
