James Martin O’Mara III

August 14, 1940 – April 10, 2025

84 wonderful years, 52 of them married to beautiful Kaye. Here is a glimpse of Jim O’Mara and a life well lived. Well read, he was an extraordinary communicator. He could talk with anyone about anything, and luckily, landed the perfect job doing sales & advertising for 29 years. Barbasol shave, splash of Canoe, and off to work roaming all over Southern California, speaking with clients from all walks of life. In this, he absorbed a daily education on the human condition. A voracious reader with unending curiosity, he dabbled. Some college and law school here and there, but tough to keep his attention. He tinkered, solved problems, shared ideas and you’d never see him panicked. To catch a frown, mention airports or astronomy.

He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing the Sierras, playing chess, rambling/roaming drives, and music. A love and respect for nature, he was happiest outdoors. He certainly believed in God but was not fond of religion. A pragmatic view of life’s immediate circumstances, but absolutely a dreamer. He maintained a wonderful optimism about what could be, how things could always get better, just hang in there. He was a modern-day Renaissance man of sorts and inspired countless people he met with lessons in business, relationships, how to live well and do the right thing. More than anything, he was a family man. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Deeply bonded with his sister Kassie and lifelong friends from childhood, he loved life – all of it. He will be missed…. but we’ll meet again. Love you always Hubby, Da, Papa
