James Martucci

James L. Martucci of Brewster, NY, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 17, 2025, in Carmel, NY at the age of 79.

Jim was born February 15, 1946, in the Bronx, NY, son of the late James Martucci. He attended schools in the Bronx, then, on August 31, 1968, he married the love of his life Lorraine Bianchini at St. Clare’s Church in the Bronx, NY. In 1973, they moved to Brewster, NY and became members of St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Jim worked as a landscaper and then became foreman at the New York Botanical Gardens where he worked for forty years before retiring in 2000. After retiring from the Botanical Gardens, Jim went to work for the Brewster Central School District as a substitute custodian until 2019. Jim was also an usher at St. Lawrence O’Toole and a member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Knights of Columbus Council 1495.

Besides his wife, Lorraine, Jim is survived by his daughter, Dina Fantini of Brewster, NY; son, James Martucci of Brewster, NY and grandchildren Dylan and Kyle Fantini. He was predeceased by his brother, Henry Martucci.

Jim was an avid NY Jets and NY Rangers fan. He loved spending time watching the games with his grandsons. His greatest joy in life was being able to watch his grandsons grow into amazing young men. He was beyond proud to be their pop-pop.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 23, 2025, at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church in Brewster, NY followed by the burial in St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery in Brewster. Calling hours will take place Wednesday October 22, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, NY.
