James Eldridge Frison Jr. was born on September 6, 1944, in Bessemer, Alabama, to James Eldridge Frison Sr. and Frankie D. Allen. During his early years, he was lovingly raised by his grandmother, Mrs.
Willie Frison, who played a significant role in shaping the man he would become.
As a young adult, James relocated to California, where he later served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1969. After his honorable discharge, he pursued vocational training at L.A. Trade Tech and went on to build a long and successful career with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, ultimately retiring as a security supervisor in 1998.
In his retirement, James settled in Arizona, where he found new joy and companionship. In 2009, he married his life partner, Angela, and they shared a loving union built on faith and mutual respect.
James was a man of profound spiritual faith, wisdom, and warmth. His radiant smile and kind words left a lasting impression on everyone he met—he truly never met a stranger.
In September 2024, James was diagnosed with cancer. He faced this challenge with the same courage, strength, and faith that had always defined him. On June 18, 2025, James peacefully transitioned to his eternal home in the presence of his Heavenly Father.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife and life partner, Angela; three sons, James Frison IlI, Kevin Bishop, and Christopher Mcintosh; two daughters, Shanna Frison and Lisa Weathers; one bonus daughter, Natasha Davis; eleven sisters; four brothers; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
James will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
