James Carver, age 65 of Mansfield passed away Friday, September 19, 2025 in OhioHeatlh Mansfield Hospital after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle accident that occurred earlier that week.
He was born January 8, 1960, the second of four children born to George and Peggy (Jacobs) Carver. After high school, Jim worked in roofing and siding along with other construction and lived a life of contentment and satisfaction.
Jim was a man of simple means and it was often said that as long as he had food in his belly, a beer in his hand and a little money in his pocket he wanted for nothing. Materialistic things were never much of a priority to Jim, instead, he found joy in nature and people. He enjoyed hunting deer and fishing with friends and spending time outside, especially hunting mushrooms. Every spring he planted a generous garden and tended it well until the harvest. Canning beans, peppers, and tomatoes Jim made many foods for his pantry like his own red sauce and his favorite pepper butter. There was always enough to share and his only grumble was that he never got his jars back. Worry free afternoons were spent riding his Kawasaki his friends referred to “Jimasaki” and helping friends and family with projects, or just stopping in for a visit or to share a beer.
He will be deeply missed by his mother Peggy Carver of Lexington, siblings
Jeff (Kelly) Carver, Jerry Carver and Janie Carver; nephews and nieces Shane, Troy, Farren, Amanda and Andrew; great nieces and nephews Zeke, Kayden, Charlotte, Jackson and Jason; uncles and aunts Dick (Patti) Jacobs, Frank (Norma) Jacobs, Don (Loraine) Jacobs, Curtis Cook, Roger Shaull, Tom Sedlacek and aunt Elaine Carver; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father George Carver in 2019, sister Jacqueline, brother Michael, and grandparents George and Jeanette Carver and Gerald and Naomi Jacobs; aunts and uncles Shirley Cook, Norma Shaull, Karen Jacobs, Sally Sedlacek, Judy Jacobs, Kathy Jacobs, Jack Jacobs, Gary Jacobs, Kenneth Jacobs, Helen and Dan Neel, Edward and Connie Carver, Nancy Stewart, Diane Jessup and Merle Carver
Friends may call Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 5-7 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a memorial service will follow at 7 pm.
