James Bibles

James Albert Bibles, aged 91 years, passed away at Lake Regional Hospital on June 27, 2025, after a brief illness.  He was surrounded by his children at the time of his passing.

James was born in Pulaski county on February 18th, 1934, to Velma (née Decker) and Lafeyette (Lafe) Bibles.  He resided in Lebanon, Missouri where he met and married Doris (née Stidham).  James and Doris moved to Camdenton, Missouri in 1965 where they worked and raised their three children.  James was a dedicated employee of Hulett Chevrolet, working for 18 years as the manager of their automotive detail shop.

James had two great passions: a love for cars and gardening. He took great pride in keeping both his family automobiles and his yard in pristine condition.  He was a hard worker with a great sense of humor who liked to be active.  After he retired, James enjoyed visiting local attractions in the Osage Beach area and going out to dinner with his family.

James is preceded in death by his wife, Doris; a sister, Shirley Higgins (née Bibles); and his parents. He is survived by his three children,  James Douglas Bibles, Jeanna Bibles, and Jeffery Bibles, as well as a niece, Sue Garbin (Michael), of Rochester, NY.

He  will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

No service is planned at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in James’ name to The National Kidney Foundation, 303 East 334ed Street, New York, NY 10016 (1-855-653-2273).

Arrangements are under the direction of Hedges-Scott-Millard Funeral Homes, 1270 S Business Route 5, Camdenton, MO 65020 (573) 346-2090. Condolences may be left online for the family at www.hedgesscottmillard.com.
