James Baker

In Loving Memory of James Joseph Baker August 28, 1941 – June 25, 2025

With deep reverence, we honor the life of James Joseph Baker (Jim), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and compassionate servant, who passed peacefully on June 25, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in Washington, Pennsylvania, James was shaped by humble beginnings and a deep-rooted sense of duty. He answered that call by serving in the U.S. military, later extending his commitment to public service through work in law enforcement in Washington, D.C.—a chapter marked by courage and quiet resolve.

Jim eventually found his way to Phoenix, Arizona, where he built a respected career in construction, leaving his imprint not only on the city’s landscape but on the lives of those who worked beside him. His work ethic and character earned him the respect of all who knew him.

Even in retirement, James’s devotion to helping others endured. He found new purpose working in transportation for special needs children with the Paradise Valley School District, offering care, patience, and consistency to students who grew to love the steady presence of “Mr. Baker.”

Jim was deeply devoted to his family. He shared a lasting love with his wife Jettie, and together they raised their daughter Danielle, whose life echoes his gentle strength. He was also a proud grandfather to Nicole, whose joy and brightness brought new life to his later years.

James will be remembered for his steady grace, servant’s heart, and the quiet way he brought comfort and stability to those around him. His legacy lives on in every life he lifted, every family he protected, and every child he quietly guided.

There are currently no plans for a memorial service for Jim.
