Jack Allen Webb Sr.
1937 – 2025
Age 87
Plattsburgh, New York
Jack Allen Webb, Sr., 87, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, in Plattsburgh, New York. Born on November 18, 1937, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Jack lived a full and meaningful life rooted in hard work, devotion to family, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Jack dedicated 37 years of his career as a machine operator to Georgia Pacific. His commitment to his work was matched only by his steadfast dedication to his family. For 58 years, he shared a loving marriage with Paula “Chickie” (Johnpeer) Webb. Together, they built a life filled with love and resilience.
He was the proud father of five children. He is survived by three daughters, Merilda Webb, Jeanne and her husband, Paul Gonyea, and Candie Webb who are all of Plattsburgh, and one son, Robert Webb of Peru. Jack’s legacy continues through his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his beloved twin sister Jean (Webb) West of Fairfield, Connecticut, and brother Paul Webb of Georgia.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved parents, Robert and Beatrice (Bonetto) Webb, his son Jack Webb Jr, whose memory remained close to Jack’s heart throughout his life, three sisters, Mary (Webb) Heitman of Moscow, Pennsylvania, Mildred (Webb) Smalley of Whitefield, New Hampshire, and Bessie (Betty) Webb of Falls, Pennsylvania, and two brothers, Robert Webb Jr. of Falls, Pennsylvania and William Webb of Syracuse, New York, as well as.
A man of strong values and quiet strength, Jack found solace in reading his Bible and took great satisfaction in the physical labor of cutting and splitting firewood to heat his home—a task he approached with both purpose and pride. He, with his wife Paula, were life-long members of the Peru Rod & Gun Club in Peru, New York. He was also an avid fan of classic country music. The voices of Conway Twitty, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Red Sovine often filled the air around him. These artists were more than just musicians to Jack—they were companions through the seasons of his life.
Those who knew Jack will remember one of his favorite sayings: “He’s a good egg!” It was the highest compliment he could give—an expression that captured both his humor and sincerity. If you were called a “good egg” by Jack Webb, you knew you had earned a place in his heart.
Above all else, Jack was an extraordinary husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and serve as a lasting reminder of a life well lived. A Graveside Service will be held on October 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Evergreen Cemetery, 1815 Main Street, Keeseville, New York. Following the graveside service, there will be a gathering at the Grand Ballroom at Meadowbrook Healthcare, 154 Prospect Ave, Plattsburgh, New York.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
