J.W. Churchwell

J.W. Churchwell, 89, of Arlington, TN, passed away very peacefully on May 15, 2025 at his home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 20th from 10am till services begin at 11am at Munford Funeral Home – Millington Chapel. The interment will be at Memory Hill Gardens on Germantown Rd in Bartlett, TN. Mr. Churchwell was a retired Captain on the City of Memphis Fire Department. After retirement his enjoyed wonderful times with his wife on their little farm. Raising livestock and having many wonderful gardens. He is preceded in death by his wonderful daughter; Sherry Churchwell Arnold; four sisters, Joyce Crawley, Marjorie Walker, Joyce Newbill, Arliene Poteet; and one brother, Buron Ray Churchwell. He is survived by his wife, of 69 years, Doris Raines Churchwell; two sons, Jeff Churchwell (Lisa), Jon Churchwell; son-in-law; Gary Arnold; Amy Churchwell; one sister, Loyce Johnson; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

 In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Association.
