Ivy Matheny

Ivy Christine Matheny, age 68, of Mannington, passed away on July 24, 2025, at Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown. She was born on March 15, 1957, a daughter of the late Arthur and Annabelle Anderson (Michael).

Ivy is survived by her beloved husband, David Calvin Matheny; her children, who she lovingly called “Sis” and “Bub”: Tina Thorne and husband Shaun of Katy, and Larry R. Anderson of Mannington; grandchildren: Emily Kittle, Owen Kittle, Annabelle Jefferson and husband Devin, Maggie Kittle, and Shelbie Thorne; and many other family members.

Ivy loved planting flowers and loved filling her yard with many beautiful varieties. She enjoyed the time she spent with her horses and her cat, Max, and loved to cook. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m with Rev Harry Holbert officiating. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmington.
