Herlinda “Linda” Vasquez- Valdez died peacefully in her home on October 12th, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 60.
Linda was born on June 17th, 1965, in Petersburg, Texas to her parents Alejandro and Ubelia Vasquez. Linda graduated from Ralls High School in 1984 and attended WT University for Cosmetology. She met the love of her life in 1995, Eliodoro “Junior” Valdez. They got married on March 2, 2002, and soon after they moved to Lubbock, Texas where their new life began. Linda was a breath of fresh air and lit up everyone’s life. She dedicated her time to family, grilling, gardening, and most importantly – spending time with her grandkids. She also was the biggest Cowboy’s fan (THIS IS OUR YEAR!!).
Left to cherish her memory include her husband; Junior Valdez of Lubbock, Texas, mother; Ubelia Vasquez of Amarillo, Texas, her daughter; Kristi Vasquez and son in-law; Marc Martinez, daughter; Bobbi Florez and fiancé; Alex Brye, son; Lee Florez and daughter in-law; Sandra Gonzalez, her grandkids; Nevaeh Cairns, Eyan Martinez, Ismael Valdez, Gavin Moralez, Sebastain Moralez, Sadie Williams, James Williams and many others. Her sister; Minerva and Richard Burge, brother; Alejando Vasquez Jr, sister; Diane and Toby Aguayo sister; Yolanda McClenagan, brother; Roy and Margie Vasquez, brother; David Vasquez, brother; Ernest and Karman Vasquez, and many loved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father; Alejandro Vasquez Sr, her brother; Raul Vasquez, and her son; Robert Florez JR.
A “Celebration of Life” is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th, 2025. Her viewing is at 12:00 PM, and her service starts at 1:00 PM, at Grace Funeral Home 6604 I-27, Lubbock, Texas, 79404. A reception to follow will be at 6302 Seventh St, Lubbock, Texas, 79416. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Linda’s life. Linda will truly be missed but will be carried on in our heart and soul for eternity.
