HELEN VALKO

HELEN L. VALKO, (nee LASH), a lifelong resident of Yonkers NY, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024, at age 93.

Helen attended local schools and was a graduate of Cochran School of Nursing. She worked as a teacher assistant for the Yonkers Public Schools for many years.  She was also a lifelong and active parishioner of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church.

Helen is survived by her children, Eileen (Dennis) Barry, Andrew (Regina) Valko, Karen Valko and Diane Valko, grandsons,

Gregory Valko and Matthew (Christine) Valko and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Valko, and siblings, Anna Stegun, and Michael and Edward Lash.

Visitation for Helen will take place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO Funeral Home from 3PM to 7PM with Parastas Service at 6PM. Diving Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church, at 10AM. Interment is Private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory, may be made to St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church.
