Helen Thomson

Helen E. Thomson passed away on October 7th 2025, at the age of 95. Helen lived in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia with her husband prior to his death and her move into Philadelphia Protestant Home. Helen spent most of her career working in Human resources at Independence Blue Cross-Blue Shield in center city. She was a very spiritual person, devoted to the Episcopal Church, attending regular Bible studies and services at PPH. Helen was a very sociable person and enjoyed talking to everyone. She would love to talk about scripture, places she traveled in her life, her little dog Maxi, and stories of years gone by. Helen’s most recent hobby outside of attending Bible study, was sitting outside and enjoying the occasional Donut from Holmesburg Bakery. Helen will be missed dearly, but we know now she is reunited with her friends and family, and her favorite little dog Maxi.

Services for Helen will be held on October 21st 2025 at Dean-Geitner-Givnish Funeral Home, 7900 Oxford Ave, Philadelphia PA 19111. Visitation will be held from 9:00am to 10:00am, with the funeral service starting at 10:00am. Burial will take place at George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting following her funeral service.
