Helen Mitchell

Helen Mitchell, born April 19, 1951, in Caldwell, KS, embarked on her heavenly journey on May 19, 2025. A woman of great resilience and dedication, Helen’s life was a testament to her faith and love for her family. Born and raised in Caldwell, she later moved to Wichita to build an impressive career spanning over 25 years in the local aircraft industry, with a majority spent at Boeing Aircraft. Following her retirement, she relocated to Wellington to be a grandmother. It was here where her nurturing spirit found a new purpose in operating the nursery at Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, a community she was devoted to for many years.

Creativity flowed through Helen’s life. In her spare time, she found joy in crafting, painting, and drawing nature scenes, expressing her love for the world around her. Her personalized scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren are cherished mementos of her dedication and love. A lifelong fan of Patsy Cline, Helen’s voice could often be heard singing along to her favorite tunes, filling her home with warmth and melody. Above all, Helen was a loving woman whose greatest pride was her grandchildren, who she adored immensely.

Helen leaves behind her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Brad Mitchell of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Heather Linder of Enid, Oklahoma; daughter, Amanda Suknot and Willie Phillips of Wellington, Kansas; daughter, Aiyana Meeks and husband Jon of Wichita, Kansas; step-daughter, Geoi Davis and Larry Jackson, Jr. of Texas; step-son, Drew Davis and wife Lee Anna of Magnolia, Texas; her treasured grandchildren: Zoe Scot, Jewels Farley, Kage Farley, Jacqueline Meeks, Benjamin Mohs, Evelynn Meeks; a great-granddaughter, Amelia; and a brother, Paul Falkenberg and wife Beth of Caldwell, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Anna Pauline Falkenberg; sister, Ella Spoonmore, and a daughter, Candice Suknot.

Memorial services for Helen will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Wellington Free Will Baptist Church, 802 East 16th Street, Wellington, Kansas, 67152. A private interment will be held at a later time in the Caldwell City Cemetery in Caldwell, Kansas.

In keeping with Helen’s devotion to children, her family asks that contributions be given to the Wellington Free Will Baptist Church. All contributions will be used to support the various children’s ministries. As written in the book of Matthew 5:16, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven,” Helen Mitchell’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
