Helen Jean Cadman, known affectionately as Helen to her friends and family, passed away
peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on June 27, 1942, Helen’s life was a
tapestry of love, laughter, and dedication, woven through the years with the threads of family,
education, and community service.
Helen’s early years were spent in the nurturing environment of Greasewood Springs, she then
attended the Seventh Day Adventist in Holbrook, laying the foundation for her lifelong love of
learning. She later attended Northern Arizona University, where she expanded her horizons and
prepared for a future of service. Her academic journey shaped her into a person who valued
education deeply, which led her to a rewarding career as a Teacher’s Aid for Kindergarten at
Toyei and Greasewood Springs Community School. Here, Helen touched the lives of countless
children with her guidance and support, fostering a love for learning in each of them.
A matriarch in her own right, Helen’s family was the centerpiece of her world. She leaves behind
a loving daughter, Valerie, who will forever cherish her mother’s memory. Helen’s legacy
continued to flourish through her beloved grandchildren, Karie, Tristen, and Raelynn, and she
was blessed to witness the birth of her great-grandchild, Luca. Each of them was a source of
immense joy and pride for Helen, and she instilled in them the values of kindness and humor.
Helen’s interests and hobbies painted a vivid picture of her vibrant spirit. She was an avid solver
of crossword puzzles, finding joy in the challenge and the satisfaction of completion. Coloring
was another pastime that allowed her to express her creativity, often sharing this activity with
her grandchildren. Helen’s love for the outdoors was evident in her passion for riding horses and
herding sheep in her earlier years, activities that connected her to her cultural roots and the
wide-open spaces she so adored.
Those who knew Helen would describe her as funny, loving, and spirited. Her sense of humor
was a beacon of light that could brighten even the darkest of days. Her loving nature was
all-encompassing, making everyone in her presence feel cherished and valued. And her spirited
personality was infectious, inspiring all around her to live life with zest and enthusiasm.
Helen Jean Cadman’s life was a journey marked by joy, service, and an unbreakable spirit. As
we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we celebrate the indelible mark she left on our
hearts and the world. Her laughter, warmth, and the wisdom she imparted will continue to guide
and comfort us. Helen’s story does not end with her passing; it lives on through the lives she
touched, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed, but
her legacy will endure forever.
