Guillermina Colon

It is with deep sorrow and gentle remembrance that we gather our thoughts to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose journey among us has come to an end. Our beloved Guillermina Colon Ortiz passed away on July 13, 2025, at age 87.

Guillermina, also known as Guilla or Gigi, was born on February 23, 1938, in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to Candido Colon and Santos Ortiz. She was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She is survived by her children Carmen and Efrain, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Julia and Willie, and niblings.

Gigi was a woman of simple pleasures. She found joy in the little things and preferred a quiet, uncomplicated life. She retired after devoting over 40 years to Wyler’s. Gigi was incredibly dedicated, always going the extra mile to ensure every task was completed to the highest standard. Her unwavering commitment and tireless effort were evident in everything she did, making her an invaluable asset to the company.

Gigi was a person of remarkable kindness. She always went out of her way to help others, offering support and compassion without hesitation. Her warm and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a gentle way of making others feel valued and cared for, making difference in the lives of those around her without seeking recognition.

In the quite hours of reflection, we are reminded that the measure of a life well-lived is found not merely in accomplishments, but in the kindness sown, the bonds forged, and the legacy that endures in the hearts of those left behind.

Her legacy is woven from simple acts of love – a well-timed phone call, a shared cup of Bustelo coffee, a gentle word in difficult times. She taught those around her the meaning of grace and resilience, never failing to find beauty even in adversity.

Though she has departed this world, her kindness and courage live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will be a blessing, a beacon, and a comfort for years to come.

We bid farewell with gratitude for every moment, certain that her love will guide us as we honor her life and spirit. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
