GoFundMe announced for Carson City local amidst mounting medical bills

Gary Foxon is a Carson City local who is in need of assistance.

He was diagnosed with a cancerous nodule at the base of his tongue and throat, and completed chemotherapy and radiation treatments on 9-18-2025. While he’s been doing my best to stay strong, the medical bills and treatment costs have quickly become overwhelming.

He is a retired diesel mechanic, a father-in-law, uncle, and “proud grandfather of three wonderful grandkids who mean the world to me.”

He also takes care of his best friend, Oscar the Pig, who is over ten years old.

“I lost my wife in 2015. Since going through the treatments, my son has been by my side caring for me at home and helping me through this difficult journey.”

The money raised will go directly to his medical bills, a family member said, including treatment expenses, and basic living costs while he focuses on healing and recovery.

“Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference and help lift some of the financial burden from my family’s shoulders.”
