Gloria Morris

Gloria Elaine Morris, lovingly known as Jean or Dunny, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut, at the age of 70. Born on June 23, 1954, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, Gloria brought joy, beauty, and boundless love into the lives of everyone she encountered.

A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and treasured friend, Gloria made her home in West Haven, where she became a pillar of warmth, generosity, and laughter. She raised five children with grace and strength: the late lan Forskin, Wesley Salmon, Desrene Forskin, Prince Forskin, and Feonia Delisser.

Gloria’s legacy continues through her many grandchildren: Wesley, Jr., Feliesha, Shermarie, Giana, Shialee, Tavia, Zyon, Prince, Jr., Daniel, Princess, Zorian, Diamond, and Kissy – each of whom carries her spirit, her love, and her unforgettable smile.

She is also survived by her dear siblings, Wycliffe Williams and Edley Cowan, and a wide circle of family, friends, and church members who adored her.

Gloria had a deep passion for sewing and fashion, always known for her elegance and impeccable style. Her presence would light up any room, but it was her laugh, joyful, contagious, and unforgettable, that truly defined her. It was the best laugh. A true reflection of her spirit.

Faith was the cornerstone of her life. Gloria was a Christian and an active volunteer at her church’s food pantry every Saturday. She served with love and purpose, caring for others often more than she did for herself. Her heart was as generous as it was strong.

An adventurer at heart, Gloria loved the beach, loved life, and loved deeply. She gave endlessly, through her time, her talents, and her spirit.
