Gloria Lovisolo

With heartfelt love and treasured memories, the family of Gloria Ann Lovisolo shares the news of her peaceful passing on June 3, 2025, surrounded by those who held her dearest. Born on August 24,1939, in the Bronx, New York, to Madeline (Prete) and Amedeo Principe, Gloria lived a life marked by quiet grace, deep compassion, and steadfast devotion to family.

A longtime resident of Scarsdale, NY, Gloria found joy in the simple pleasures—playing mahjong with friends, the companionship of beloved dogs, and the enduring bonds of family. She was a proud graduate of The Ursuline Academy on the Grand Concourse and followed her calling to care for others by earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of Saint Rose in 1960. She began her career in neurosurgery at Montefiore Hospital and continued to serve with kindness and dedication throughout her years in nursing.

In 1961, Gloria married her college sweetheart, Richard Lovisolo, at the Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, New York—a parish that remained central to her faith and community for the rest of her life. Together, they built a warm and loving home for their two children, Richard Lovisolo, Jr. (Evelyn) and Angela Lovisolo. Gloria embraced her role as “Grandma” with boundless joy and pride, especially in the lives of Nicholas, Victoria, and Matthew.

Gloria’s love extended beyond her immediate family. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Amedeo (Matty) Principe, Jr.; her nephews, Amedeo (Matty) Principe and Dau Bueno de Camargo; and her grandnephew, Vincent Principe. She is now reunited in peace with her parents, extended family to include sister-in-law, Barbara Principe, and her nephew, Vincent Principe.

Gloria will be remembered for her strength, and her quiet faith. Her presence touched all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

A Catholic Mass celebrating Gloria’s life will be held at the Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, NY, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.

The family will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home  on Friday June 6, 2025 from 3:00-8:00 PM.  A Catholic Mass celebrating Gloria’s life will be held at the Church of the Annunciation in Crestwood, NY, with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
