Gloria Galli

Essex, MA – Gloria J. Galli, 85, of Essex, passed away August 15, 2025 at Charter Senior Living in Danvers. Daughter of the late Carroll Thompson and Colleen Porter, Gloria was born in Portsmouth, ME and raised in Maine. She moved in her teenage years to Beverly, MA with her Father Carroll and Stepmother Judy Thompson.

Gloria met her beloved husband Dario Galli and in 1963 they moved to Essex, MA where they raised their son. She worked at the Junction Ice Cream, as a waitress for many years at Misty Acres Restaurant, as a loving Nanny for several local families and in retirement enjoyed selling antiques and their honey at Flea Markets. For 25 years Gloria and Dario enjoyed their winters in Port Charlotte, FL making many new friends.

Gloria was very generous and loved her family. She looked forward to large family gatherings. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and spending time with Dario, her son and grandson.

Gloria is survived by: Her husband of 62 years Dario Galli; her son Michael Galli and his wife Catherine of Essex; and her grandson Michael Jr. of Orono, ME. She is survived by her sister Carol Mahoney and husband Steve of Winthrop, MA, brother Bruce and wife Janet of Beverly, MA, sister Cheryl Heighe, sister Judy Adjutant of Rochester, NH and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Carroll Kimball.

Gloria’s family is grateful for the care and guidance provided by excellent teams from Charter Senior Living Memory Care and Care Dimensions.

Her graveside funeral service will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery 106 Brimbal Ave., Beverly on Friday, August 29 at 11AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
