Georgia McMillan

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of a wonderful lady Georgia Lynn (Dunn) McMillan of Richland Center, WI following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Georgia was born on March 5, 1949, in Rockford, IL at St. Anthony’s hospital to Lois and George Descheemaker. Georgia Dunn graduated from Big Foot High School Walworth, WI class of 1967. She then married Dennis Heiligenthal from 1970-1976 and they lived in Delavan WI. It is there she met the “love of her life” Theodore “Teddy” McMillan they were married 1985 in Cape Coral, Florida where they resided for 28 years before returning to Wisconsin in 2011.

Georgia had 3 loves her beloved dogs Jenny/Shadow the Dallas Cowboys/ football in general and her family of which she was blessed to have an extended and blended one! She loved to sing karaoke and visit her family in Texas! She found great joy in her career as an executive assistant with AJAY, Sun Bank and Lee Memorial hospital.

Georgia will be dearly missed by her family and countless friends she met along her journey. She is survived by her husband Theodore McMillan, Richland Center, WI her stepchildren Kristin McMillan, Elkhorn, WI, Thomas (Stacie) McMillan of Haverstraw, NY. Her grandchildren Emma (Adam) Sommerfeld of Burlington, WI and Thomas (Jessica) McMillan of Englewood, NJ. Sisters Vicky (Mike) Flugstad Plover, WI Dawn (Rick) Miller, Rockford, IL and her brother Allan (Nancy) Descheemaker of Freeport Il. Niece Tamara Flugstad and nephew Daniel Flugstad and great nieces Savannah and Shaye. She was proceeded in death by her parents Lois & Donald Dunn, bother George Descheemaker and a grandson Drew McLernon. The family would like to extend our sincere thanks to those who cared for Georgia in her final days including AGRACE Hospice specifically her AMAZING and compassionate clinical team: Kari, Katie and Julia as well as the kind, caring staff at Pine Valley Community Village, Richland Center.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Should you desire to make contribution to your local community animal shelter in her memory that would be an honorable gesture & definitely “George approved”.
