George Corum

George Lester Corum, 87, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 3:22 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2025, at his home.

Private burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.

A Celebration of Life for George will be held at the Mark Twain Riverboat in Hannibal for family and friends.

There will be no visitation.

The family is being served by the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

George was born March 5, 1938, in Waverly, MO to William Henry Corum and Margaret Emma Long Corum.

Survivors include his four children, Daniel L. Corum, Lester C. Corum, Catherine C. Radford, and Christine K. Tate; one brother, Kenneth Corum; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce Corum; son, Brian D. Corum; two brothers, Charles Corum and Francis Corum; three sisters, Betty Lake, Eva Robertson, and Georgia Garner.

George served his country proudly as a member of the United States Air Force.

George retired after 51 years from Bleigh Construction where he was an electrician.

An avid outdoorsman, George enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping on the Mississippi River. George loved being in his garage working on race cars and restoring old classic cars. One of his favorite restorations was his own 1974 Jaguar XJ12. George was a jack of all trades and there was nothing he couldn’t do. Above all, George treasured his family and the time they spent together.
