Mrs. Freda Anderson Taylor, age 95, of West Jefferson, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Atrium Health Mercy Hospital in Charlotte. She was born in Ashe County on May 12, 1930, to the late Anders Gottfrid and Frankie Isabel Faw Anderson.
Mrs. Taylor was a very loving mother with a witty personality who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She possessed many talents and owned her own dress shop, “Annette’s.” A graduate of West Jefferson High School, she was also a talented artist who loved to draw birds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gwyn Taylor; two brothers, Andy Anderson and Fritz Anderson; and one sister, Greta Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Roten officiating. Burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00–2:00 p.m. on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by three sons, Richard Taylor of West Jefferson, Ronnie Taylor (Ja’na) of Kent, Washington, and Wayne Taylor of Jefferson; one daughter, Annette McNeill (Terry) of Charlotte; three sisters, Eva Lynch, Carol Miller, and Nina Clifton, all of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Eric Taylor (Suzanna), Joshua Taylor (Erin), Tyler McNeill (Amy), Marshall McNeill (Madelyn), and Brandon Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Benjamin Taylor, Elliott Taylor, Idella Taylor, William Taylor, Claire McNeill, and Wyatt McNeill; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are: Tyler McNeill, Josh Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Elliott Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, and Louie Eldreth.
