Frances Powell

Frances Powell, 81, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 8:47 PM, Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at her home in Hannibal, MO.

The family will host a private gathering at a later date.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Frances was born March 13, 1944, in Hannibal, MO to Guy Widaman and Esther Irene Butcher Widaman.

She was married to Ronnie Powell. He preceded her in death on December 7, 2020.

Survivors include her daughter, Lori Finney (Mark Mueller) of Hannibal, MO; one brother, Donnie Widaman; two sisters, Carol Mudd (Jim) and Cathy Owens; one sister-in-law, Randi Widaman; one granddaughter, Rashelle Wegehoft (Jason); two great grandchildren, Alyssa Riney and Zoie Riney (fiancé, Dakota Dietle); and one great great grandchild, Waylon Dietle. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenny Widaman, Chuck Widaman, and Daryel Widaman; and two sister, Marilyn Sutton and Shirley Dunn.

Professionally, Frances retired from Duffin’s Optical where she was an Optician.

Frances enjoyed fishing and camping, her favorite destination being Mark Twain Lake. Frances had a green thumb; her rose bushes and flower gardens were a testament of just how talented she was in her gardens. Frances found joy in the vibrant energy and lights of Las Vegas and the deserts of Arizona. Her home was the center of many family gatherings, Frances loved to bring her family together for barbecues and fish frys, which were paired with her famous homemade fudge. One of her favorite past times was spending her weekends browsing antique stores looking for her next treasure. Above all, Frances cherished her family and each moment they spent together.
