Ferne Lohr

Ferne Casebeer Lohr, 97, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, formerly of Lancaster, Pennsylvania died September 30, 2025, at Erickson Senior Living.

She was the wife of James W. Lohr for 65 years prior to his death in 2017.  Born in Somerset, PA, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Victoria Casebeer.  Mrs. Lohr retired from Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. after being employed there for 25 years as an account executive.  Prior to moving to Lancaster, she was employed by the Somerset Daily American as a sales representative.  A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, she had also been a docent at James Buchanan’s Wheatland and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Ferne was a former member of the Fulton Opera House Guild and belonged to the Red Hat Society.

Surviving are her two daughters, Leslie of Lone Tree, CO and Susan (Page) Peary of Parker CO, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Ferne was predeceased by a sister, Rozella Spoerlein, of Somerset Pennsylvania.
