Felton was born in Higden, Arkansas, one of 8 children of George Marvin and Amanda Ella Barnum

(nee Hooten). Felton grew up attending the Assembly of God Church in Higden. Later in life, he was

baptized at Westside Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.

Felton joined the United States Army at the age of 18 alongside his older brothers and was a proud

Veteran of World War II. Home from the War, Felton met and married Mary Sue, a teacher, becoming the proud father of Janeen, Buzz, and later Brenda. Mary Sue and Felton spent may happy hours playing Dominoes at the kitchen table. Mary Sue always won until Felton studied and memorized the Dominoes. After that, Mary Sue could never win again. But she did take her Dominoes with her if she left the table!

Mary Sue and Felton were happily married for 53 years until her passing in 2001.

Through the years, Felton found much joy in becoming the beloved patriarch of six generations, having 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 6 great-great-great grandchildren.

Felton was a longtime member of the Carpenters’ Union. He was an avid golfer, oftentimes playing with his son-in-law Kenny, who said he could never beat Felton until Felton was 80 years old and walked with a cane! Felton was a walker and a dear friend to many and loved his many pets throughout the years. The ultimate jokester, Felton lit up every party and gathering with his smile and ready laughter. He loved to tell stories to the little ones on his lap and to the older ones around the family table. He loved his family and had an unmatched zest for life.

Graveside service to be held on Tuesday October 21st. at Woodland Memorial Park in Edgemont, Arkansas. Felton will be laid to rest alongside the love of his life, Mary Sue, his son Buzz, and sister-in-law Selma.

The family wishes to thank Vitas Hospice of St. Louis, Missouri.

Felton Barnum will be greatly missed.

Rest in Peace, Dad and Grandpa.
