Eudoxia Carchio

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dixie Carchio, age 95 at Milford Hospital on October 4, 2025. She left this world with her family close by her side. Dixie was the wife to the late Robert Carchio for over 50 years who passed away on July 12, 2004.

She was born and raised in Uxbridge, MA, the daughter of the late Angelo G. Kottis and Mary (Thasullas) Kottis. Dixie lived in Hopedale most of her life. She was a licensed real estate broker, and also assisted in the family business of electrical, contracting, and real estate development. She was active for many years in local, state, and national politics, and was elected as a state committee woman, and also a state delegate for the presidential election in 1972 . Later, she was invited to the inauguration of Ronald Reagan on January 20, 1985.

As a member of the Hopedale Union Evangelical Church, she sang in the choir for many years and participated in church musical shows, often having the lead roles. Never to forget the wonderful aromas of her home cooking and her door was always open. She loved having people over anytime, hosting many parties with music and celebrations with family and friends. Dixie loved and supported her children and all their activities, her daughter with cheerleading, and other school activities, and her sons shaking the walls with the rock bands in the basement.

Dixie was a woman of strong work ethic, great wisdom, a free spirit, and deep family values. She had many memorable years, shared with family and friends in Hopedale, Onset, and Fort Lauderdale. Her greatest love was her family, and she lived every day for them, even in her last days, she would always say “all is well” and “every day is a good day”. Her spirit and inspiration were boundless and she touched many lives, even her caregivers couldn’t wait to be with her.

She was the sister of Gregory Kottis of Randolph, MA, the late Attorney, John Kottis, and the late Anna Kottis. She is survived by her three children, David Carchio and his wife, Lynne of Mendon, MA, Dyan Harpest, and her husband, Robert of Parkland, Florida, Paul Carchio of Hopedale, her grandchildren, Lindsey, and husband, Francisco Silvestri, Cara Harpest, Christie Harpest, all of Florida, two grandsons, Alex and Cody Carchio of Mendon, and a great granddaughter Alina Silvestri.

Also survived by a sister-in-law, Carol MacWilliam of Milford and many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
