Ernest Eugene Ravani of Sonoma, California, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the age of 103.

Ernie was born in San Rafael, California on November 15, 1921, to Charles Ravani and Rose Borel. He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was stationed in Alaska. After the war, Ernie returned home with skills as a butcher and began a 40-year career in the profession. He met and married Emily A. Villani in 1948.

Throughout his life, Ernie was an active member in his community, participating in various local events and organizations. He enjoyed gardening, gambling, and spending time with his vast family. His warm demeanor and kind spirit touched the lives of many.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ray, his sisters Henrietta, Cecile, Georgette, Leontine, and Carmel, his wife Emily Ravani, and his daughter Carol Ravani Maggio. He is survived by his grandchildren Chris, Lisa, and Kevin Maggio who will cherish his memory and carry forward his affection for Bay Area sports.

A visitation for Ernie will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Valley Memorial Park, 650 Bugeia Lane, Novato, California, followed by funeral services at 11 am. All are invited to attend to celebrate the remarkable life of a man who will be deeply missed.
