Erin Sullivan

Erin Michelle Sullivan was born on February 8, 2001, in Landstuhl, Germany—the second child of Melissa and Andrew Sullivan. She was a beloved sister to Krista, Connor, Logan, Savannah, and Alexander, and held a tender place in her heart for Emma, her sister who passed away shortly after birth in 2004.

Erin spent her early childhood at Newport News, Virginia, before moving at the age of ten with her mother and siblings to Welaka, Florida. There, they were welcomed with open arms by her grandparents, John and Kitty Maluda. “Grandma and Poppy” played a vital role in Erin’s upbringing, helping to raise her and her siblings in a home filled with care, consistency, and unconditional love. Their presence helped shape the remarkable young woman Erin became.

From the start, Erin radiated spirit, energy, and determination. She was an avid athlete who played everything she could—track, softball, volleyball, cheerleading—but soccer was her greatest love. She had a wide circle of friends and was known for her bold laugh, kind heart, and fearless nature. A member of the Welaka Methodist Church in her youth, Erin served as an acolyte and embraced church life with the same warmth and enthusiasm she brought to all she did.

Erin grew up surrounded by animals—kangaroos, a camel, emus, dogs, goats, horses, bunnies, chickens—thanks to her mother’s love of creatures big and small. Her childhood was filled with unforgettable summer adventures alongside Krista, Connor, Logan and her cousins—Chase Bell, Madison, Jackson, and Reagan Mallick—together known as The Eight. They spent those precious summer days making memories built on laughter, mischief, and the special bond only cousins can share.

Her love for family was deep and enduring. Erin’s relationship with her mother, Melissa, was extraordinary—not just a bond of parent and child, but of best friends. They shared everything: adventures, laughter, and an unbreakable love for Jacksonville Jaguars football. She adored her Aunt Jessica, who passed away in 2013, and her Uncle Jon Lonnquest. Their love shaped her, and Jessica’s memory remained especially close to her heart.

Erin lived life with boldness and curiosity. She loved music, video games, karaoke, and travel. Her favorite movies were Spirit and Homeward Bound. An adrenaline junkie at heart, she loved boating, swimming, rollercoasters, riding ATVs, dressing up for Halloween, and heading to Orlando for Halloween Horror Nights. She dreamed of skydiving—just one of many fearless goals that captured her adventurous soul. She was a skilled pool player, loved card games, and always made time for fun.

In December 2021, Erin met Alfred Grant. On August 11, 2024, they welcomed their son, Atlas Michael Grant—the light of Erin’s life. From the moment she became a mother, Erin’s strength took on new meaning. She poured her heart into loving Atlas. The way she held him, protected him, and dreamed for him spoke volumes about the depth of her devotion. She was a natural—tender, joyful, fearless, and deeply loving.

Erin worked at a local restaurant in Welaka, where her energy and warmth made her a friend to many. She loved being close to family, living between her mother and grandparents so she could spend time with them all. She was also well-traveled, with adventures taking her to Panama, Jamaica, the Bahamas, Haiti, Las Vegas, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, and more. She dreamed of one day visiting Iceland, Ireland, and New Orleans.

Erin’s life was heartbreakingly short, taken from us far too soon and in a way that feels impossible to comprehend. But in her years, she lived fully—with passion, laughter, courage, and love. She touched every life she encountered with her vibrant spirit.

We will miss her every day—the sound of her voice, the sparkle in her eyes, her unstoppable energy, and her fierce presence. But we will carry her with us always—in quiet moments, in bursts of laughter, and in the strength we find when we need it most. Most of all, we will surround Atlas with the same boundless love she gave him so effortlessly.

Though she is no longer with us, Erin’s love lives on—especially in Atlas. He will grow up knowing that his mother was radiant, strong, and full of life. We will tell him about her fire, her laughter, her courage, and above all, the depth of love she had for him.

So rest in peace, beautiful Erin.

You are forever loved and will never be forgotten.
