Elizabeth Servatius
- May 24, 2025

Elizabeth Servatius, nee Furlan, 90, of Chicago passed away on May 21, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Donald. Loving mother to Terry (Bob) Guthrie, Greg (Patti), John (Diana), Joan (Ellen Rosner), David (Julie) and the late Mary. Cherished grandmother to Kevin (Tara), Brian (Deanna), Peter (Rose), Kathleen (Adam), Michael (Rachel), Ethan, Amelia, Casey and Rye. Proud great-grandmother of Giorgio, Leonardo, Marshall, Emersyn, Violette, James and Danielle. Dear sister of Virginia (the late Joseph) Chase and the late George (Shirley), Margaret (Tony) and Alfonso (Betty). She will be missed by many friends and family. Faith, Family, and Friends were everything to Mom, and in that a great example to us of how to live life. She encouraged us to pursue our passions, and discouraged our worrying that would “keep you busy but never get you anywhere.” And where we failed, she taught us to be open to where life might be taking us. She was steady, unwavering, unconditional, and greeting us always was her warm, welcoming smile. Mom’s emphasis on giving and doing for others guided us too, through her active involvement in parish life at St Timothy’s, and her work with Deborah’s Place and Misericordia. She met her life partner and soulmate in Donald through Young Christian Workers (YCW) and later the Christian Family Movement (CFM). She took such joy in being with friends, playing golf, bridge clubs and book clubs, and at so many gatherings for birthdays, special occasions or for no reason at all. We got lucky, like winning the lotto lucky, and we will treasure her always. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27th from 3-8pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N Cicero Ave., Chicago IL 60646. Friends and family are invited to meet at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, 6955 N Hiawatha Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, on Wednesday, May 28th for a memorial mass at 11am. Memorial donations in Elizabeth’s name can be made to either Misericordia Home, 6300 N Ridge Ave, Chicago, IL 60660, or Deborah’s Place, 2822 W Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60612.
