Elizabeth Amos

Elizabeth “Betty” Amos passed away July 11, 2025 at the age of 89, in her home in Charlotte, TN. Born October 23, 1935, raised in Franklin, KY. Betty lived her life defined by her Faith, Family, Kindness and love of animals, especially her beloved cats.

She was the daughter of the late Hubert and Thelma “Reedy” Meador. She graduated in 1954 from Franklin High School.  Betty worked as a legal Secretary for a major corporation and several law firms over her lifetime.  Betty had a love for gardening, writing (published two books) and watching and caring for all of God’s creatures surrounding their home.

Betty was the proud mother to Robert “Scott” Jenkins and Loving Mother-in-law to Lisa Jenkins. Nothing brought her more joy than her role as Grandmother to Elizabeth “Beth” Jenkins (husband, Kevin Gerby) and Matthew “Matt” Jenkins (Liz Cuellar.) Her family was her pride and joy.  Betty married the love of her life in June 1970. Dewey “Ken” Amos, truly brought magic to her life. They met while she was looking for a magician to perform for Scott’s birthday party. Ken answered that call and said all he wanted for payment was a home-cooked meal. The magic started and grew from there. They shared 55 wonderful, magical years together.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Kymbal.

Visitation with family will be at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.; visitation will resume on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Bellevue Baptist Church, 7400 US Highway 70 S, Nashville, TN 37221; from 12:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 1:00 P.M. Pastor Drew Boswell will be officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 1150 Dickerson Rd., Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
