Elaine Walker

Elaine Walker, age 85 years, 10 months, and 18 days, of Parkers Lake, Kentucky, widow of Cecil Walker, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at her home and was placed in the care of the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Walkers Chapel Baptist church. Burial followed in the Nevelsville cemetery.

Elaine was born on October 15, 1939, in Nevelsville, Kentucky, to Reed Owens and Nannie Nevels Owens. A devoted member of her community and congregation, Elaine served faithfully as the clerk at Walkers Chapel Baptist Church for 40 years, where she also contributed in many other capacities.

Known for her warm hospitality, Elaine was an exceptional cook who loved feeding her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, a cherished pastime that reflected her creativity and love for tradition.

Preceding her in death was her parents, husband of 69 years, Cecil Walker, brothers, Willard Owens, Hoyt Owens, Dean Owens, and Mike Owens, sisters, Irene New and Ruth McDowell, and two infant siblings, Roxy and Billy Owens.

Survivors include son, Tim Walker, and wife, Lynnette, daughter, Sally Blankenship, and husband, Hoss, sister, Peggy Gabbard, grandchildren, Michael Blankenship, and wife, Katie, Bryan Blankenship, and wife, Beth, great grandchildren, Kenlee, Caleb, Cade, Owen, Grace, and Bryson Blankenship, and a great great grandchild on the way.
