Elaine M. Toon, a longtime resident of Tempe, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving children. She was 76 years old. Born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 30, 1948, to the late George D. and Veronica R. (Johnson) Alek, she was a loving and devoted daughter.

Elaine’s greatest joy and primary focus in life was her family. She was a dedicated mother and a proud grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Her deep Catholic faith was the foundation of her life, and she was an active member of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. While her family and faith were her cornerstones, she also held numerous jobs throughout her life, including a 20-year career with Aero Products.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her family: her children, Cheryl (Robert) Richetta, Jennifer (Robert) Clark, Joseph Toon, and Robert (Andrea) Toon; her grandchildren, Jacob (Ashlyn) Richetta, Adam Richetta, Samuel Richetta, Ellee Richetta, Charlie Richetta, William Clark, and Emma Clark; her brother, Glynn Alek; her nephews, Michael (Stacey) Alek and Ryan (Amanda) Alek; and her cousins, Joseph (Jill) Johnson and Leslie Johnson.

She is reunited with her parents; her uncle, Robert Johnson; and her sister-in-law, Mary Lee Alek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church (3450 W. Ray Rd, Chandler, AZ 85226). Friends and family are invited to gather for a viewing at the church prior to the Mass, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa.
