Edwin Moore, Jr.

Edwin Evans Moore, Jr., 79, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Camden, NJ., he was the son of the late Edwin Evans Moore and Ellamay Perkins Moore.

Growing up in Riverton, New Jersey, he had very fond memories of his family and an idyllic 1950’s childhood. Always rooted for the Philadelphia Phillies, especially his baseball idol Richie Ashburn. Graduated in the top of his class at Palmyra High School as well as with honors from Ursinus College. He had a strong work ethic and a long career in computer programming and data analysis. Upon moving to Downingtown Pa, he was involved with the Welcome Wagon and Downingtown Little League. He was an excellent tennis player and backyard wiffle ball legend. He was proud to have had a couple of letters to the editor published in the Philadelphia Inquirer over the years to validate viewpoints he felt surely must be shared in common by others. While he was not the most spiritual man, he found solace in knowledge, as he was an avid reader on a myriad of subjects and a student of history, especially the civil war. He enjoyed any beach tremendously and made wonderful memories while traveling all over the country and other parts of the world. He was most proud of his family and would particularly revel in his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “D dad”. He was a good man, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and partner. He will be whole heartedly missed by all who knew him.

Edwin is survived by his three sons, Christopher (Shannon), Jeffrey (Kelly), Scott (Kristine) and their mother Diane. His grandchildren Dylan, Noah, Logan, Keegan, Kelly, Roman, Scarlette, Portia, Philippa and Bowie. His Siblings Prudy (Hank), Jerry (Carol) and Randy (Trish). His adored companion of over twenty years Meredith.

Services will be held at Christ Church, 500 4th street, Riverton New Jersey, Tuesday July 8th at 11:00 a.m. Memorial reception to follow after.
