Edward Nelson

Let us pause today and pay tribute to the memory of someone who endeared himself into the hearts of his family and friends.

Edward Nelson, widower of his beloved Mary McHugh Nelson, departed our earthly realm on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in Columbia, South Carolina.

Born December 29, 1958 in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Ernest and Sarah Briggs Nelson.

“Led”, as he was fondly called, received his formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County.

“Led” was a charming charismatic happy go lucky individual. He was a person that loved good energy, music and was just an overall good time. Edward loved his family and lived his life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all that loved him – we will forever remember his big heart and kind spirit. We are left with his presence of love and everlasting memories.

Left to cherish “Led’s” precious memories is his stepson, Matthew (Alicia) McHugh; siblings, Helen Nelson both of Long Island NY, Essie Nelson of Manning, Carol Nelson of Summerton, Gerome (Gianna) Nelson of Greenville SC, John Nelson of Summerton, Henry Briggs of Brooklyn NY and LC(Josephine) of Long Island NY; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
