Edmund Mueller Jr.
Edmund R. Mueller, Jr. age 85, of Somonauk, IL, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on September 9, 2025 at The Springs of Monarch in Naperville, IL. He was born in Melrose Park, IL on August 13, 1940, the son of Edmund and Emma (Trippel) Mueller.
On June 30, 1962, Ed was united in marriage to Hazel (Schuth) Mueller, and together they shared 60 wonderful years. He was a devoted member of Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, IL.
Ed proudly served the City of Hillside for 27 years as a Lieutenant Firefighter and Training Officer with the Hillside Fire Department. His dedication, courage, and service to the community were a source of pride for both him and his family.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend who touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Edmund is survived by his children, Robert Mueller of Berkeley, IL, and Cheryl Mueller of Aurora, IL; his two grandsons, Joshua Haynes and Kyle Haynes; and his brother, Paul Mueller of Sandwich, IL.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel Mueller, and his parents, Edmund and Emma Mueller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 15 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Rt. 47, Yorkville, IL, with Pastor Matt Conrad officiating. Interment will be private.
A luncheon will follow the service.
