Edmond Boesch

Edmond Jules Boesch (Skip), age 70, left our world on September 27, 2025. Skip was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Irma Boesch, stepfather Dr. Alan G. C. White, and his beloved sister Carol and brother-in-law Alex Kazmarck. Skip is survived by his nephews Wes, Bill and Chris Kazmarck, his sister Meg Sartain, niece Courtney and nephew Chris Sartain, and many friends too numerous to count.

Skip was born in New Orleans, LA. In recent years, he traveled back to the City visiting places he went to as a boy and reconnecting with childhood friends. His teenage years were spent in Lexington, VA. Skip graduated from Lexington High School, class of 1974. Skip loved his time in Lexington and stayed close with his Lexington friends.

Skip joined the US Navy in 1976 where he was a radio operator. He still had the talent of speaking in morse code. Skip joined his sister, Carol, in Ocean City in 1978 and made New Jersey his home. He worked at Carol and Alex’s store the “Birdcage” before becoming a blackjack and craps dealer at the Sands Hotel and Casino. In 1986, Skip opened his own stores “Shaded Vision” and “Surf Jewelry” located at the Surf Mall on the Ocean City Boardwalk and “T-Shirt World” located at the Cumberland Mall. Skip went on to open Ocean City stores “Shakedown Street” and the “Lizard of Oz.” Skip was the arcade manager at 7th Street Surf Shop for many years before working at the Music Pier for OC Public Works. Skip was the “Unofficial Boardwalk Ambassador” and he truly appreciated living and working in Ocean City.

To know Skip was to love Skip. He made friends wherever he went, and more importantly, kept these friends for life. Skip had a gift for words – he wrote many songs and was a talented singer and self-taught guitar player. He could play countless songs from memory, including the complete Jimmy Buffet catalogue. He was constantly learning new songs and polishing his guitar playing skills. His stories of adventures spanned the decades and made you laugh and want to hear more. Skip traveled the United States and the World, spending winters in Florida, Cozumel and Thailand. Skip had a true zest for life, and he generously gave the gifts of friendship, love and laughter to all he met. Ocean City won’t be the same without him.
