Duyen Thi Vo, a cherished wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, in San Jose, California, at the age of 47. Born on July 7, 1977, in Long Xuyen, Vietnam, Duyen’s journey was one marked by an unwavering spirit of compassion and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of those around her.

Duyen’s early life in Vietnam laid the foundation for her values of family, faith, and education. Her Catholic beliefs shaped her worldview and remained a guiding force throughout her life. After moving to the United States, Duyen furthered her education by studying psychology, a field that perfectly aligned with her innate desire to understand and help others. Her insight and empathy were a source of comfort to both strangers and loved ones alike.

In her personal life, Duyen found joy and companionship in her marriage to her devoted husband, Matthew Vo. Together, they created a life filled with love, laughter, compassion, and unwavering support. Duyen was also a beloved sibling to her sister Jenny Tran, her brother Mark Tran, and her sister Ha Maire. Her role as a sister was one she held dear, always providing support and sharing in both the joys and sorrows that life brought their way.

Although Duyen did not have any children of her own, she was a mother to the many foster animals she embraced throughout her life. Her love and care for wildlife knew no bounds, and was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and the bond they shared was evident to all who knew her.

A phenomenal painter, Duyen’s artistic talents were more than a hobby; they were an expression of her soul. Her artwork was vibrant and full of life, often serving as a visual diary of her experiences and emotions. Duyen’s paintings were not only beautiful but also conveyed a sense of peace and contemplation that was deeply appreciated by the few who had the luxury of viewing her work.

Duyen’s impact on the world was profound and will be felt long after her passing. Her legacy is one of kindness, resilience, and the pursuit of understanding the human heart. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit continues to inspire and guide us.
