Duncan Weedon

Duncan Eric Weedon, 62, of Frederick, MD passed away at home on Sunday, September 28, 2025, with his family by his side. He grew up in Sunnyside, MD (a small black community between Adamstown and Jefferson), and attended Frederick High School.  

Duncan was a mild spirit who enjoyed helping family and friends. For 30 years he worked at S.B. Thomas/Bimbo Bakery in Buckeystown, MD as a Maintenance Mechanic. His hobby and passions were in collecting sports cards, coins, and replicas of old cars. Everyone who knew Duncan will clearly recall his favorite expression, “Maaaannn”!

Duncan was the son of Delores S. Weedon (and the late Theodore E. Weedon). He is survived by his brother, Timothy Weedon (Carol) of Shippensburg, PA, and five sisters Wanda Safford (Daniel), Gwendolyn Jones (Horace), Angela Edelen, and Tina Pollock, all of Frederick, MD; and Eugenia Griffin of Hagerstown, MD. He leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews, 25 great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-nephew and one great great-niece. He is also survived by four aunts – Erma Lee, Libby Dawson, and Patricia Moten all of Frederick, MD; Lorraine Dorsey of New Market, MD, and one uncle, Earl Carrington of NC, as well as several cousins.

Duncan was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Thomas Edelen and Stanlo Griffin, and one beloved niece, Angel Weedon.

A memorial service will be held on October 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Crestwood Village Clubhouse, 6902 Crabapple Dr., Frederick, MD 21703. Repast will immediately follow the service for family and friends.
