Dr. Francis “Hank” Kapusinsky

February 17, 1941 – August 7, 2025

Dr. Francis “Hank” Kapusinsky passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 84 years old. Born in Suffern, New York to Joseph and Mary Kapusinsky, Hank was the second of five brothers. He is survived by his beloved brothers Joseph Kapusinsky (87), Gerald Kapusinsky (80), and Gary Kapusinsky (73). He was preceded in death by his brother Kenny Kapusinsky (67). 

Hank spent his childhood in upstate New York where he was known for his athleticism and passion for football. He was inducted into the Rockland County Hall of Fame honoring his excellence in football. He earned his degrees in Business Administration and Education from the University of Rhode Island and later completed his Ph.D. at the University of Sarasota. A lifelong educator and leader, Hank served as a City Superintendent of Schools in New York, leaving a lasting legacy of academic excellence and community impact. 

It was during his time in New York that Hank met the love of his life, Yee-chun “Lisa” Kapusinsky, at Mount Sinai Hospital. Together, they built a life centered around service, family, and compassion. They later settled in Clearwater, Florida, where they raised their two daughters, Jennifer and Tesha. 

Hank was an active member of his community, founding and operating two assisted living facilities in Clearwater and Safety Harbor. His passion for caregiving, entrepreneurship, and education touched countless lives and reflected his unwavering dedication to others. 

Hank had a deep love for travel and exploring the world. Throughout his life, he journeyed to countries across Asia, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia, creating lasting memories with his beloved wife Lisa, his daughters and his brothers. Whether it was walking the historic streets of Italy, discovering the landscapes of New Zealand, or experiencing the rich cultures of Asia and Australia, Hank cherished the opportunity to explore the world through shared adventures with those he loved most.

Hank was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lisa, whom he lovingly cared for until her passing on December 17, 2019. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Bross (47) and son-in-law Keith Bross (48), and Tesha Simpson (43) and son-in-law Matthew Simpson (47). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Ellisyn Bross (16), Chase Bross (14), Austin Simpson (13), and Jaxon Simpson (11).

Those who knew Hank will remember his warm smile, infectious laughter, sharp business mind, and relentless encouragement for others to pursue higher education. He was a man of integrity, loyalty, and deep love for his family.

A celebration of Hank’s life will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens.
