Douglas Smith

It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories that the family of Douglas Smith, aged 72, announce his peaceful passing on July 22, 2025, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital.

Douglas was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is predeceased by his parents, Annie and Ernest Smith, and his brothers John, Clarence, and infant brother Ernest.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his devoted children: Doug Smith (Amanda), Jennifer Courtney (Ross), and Angela Smith (Robert). Douglas was a proud and caring grandfather to his treasured grandchildren: Alyssa, Parker, Brayden, Kierra, and Adaline, who brought immense joy to his life.

He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings: Ernest Smith (Lily), Fred Smith (Francis), Bob Smith (Bernice), Dave Smith (Faye), and sister Bride Smith, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Douglas will be remembered for his kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. His warmth and gentle presence will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

As per Douglas wishes cremation as taken place.

Internment will occur on Monday August 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Anglican Cemetery on Forest Road.
