Dorothy Hendershot

Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Hendershot, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at her home.

Born August 6, 1937, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Roy Keller Sneckenberger and Pauline Esther (Angle) Sneckenberger.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Warren M. Hendershot, in December 2024.

Dottie was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School and was a homemaker.  She was a member of Maugansville Bible Brethren Church.

Dottie devoted her life to her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Fay Doppel (Carl); her son, Randy Hendershot (Barb); four grandchildren, Bethany Doppel and Austin Doppel, Amber Nilson (Curtis), and Brett Hendershot (Melissa); three great-grandchildren, Brynn and Connor Nilson, and Kelly Hendershot; two sisters, Carol Grove, Bonnie Harne; a brother, Donald Sneckenberger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dottie was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Sneckenberger and Richard “Dick” Sneckenberger.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10 am at Broadfording Bible Brethren Church Cemetery, 13523 Broadfording Church Road, Hagerstown, MD.  Pastor Chad Carter and Pastor Curtis Hendershot will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc., 13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD on Sunday evening from 2 to 4 pm.  For the convenience of friends, you may visit the funeral home after noon.
