Doris Bomgardner

Doris Jean Bomgardner, 95, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Messiah Lifeways.

She was born on August 19, 1929 in Hickory Corners, PA to the late Lain B. and Edna M. (Spotts) Miller.

She was a graduate of Lower Mahanoy Township High School, where she was the class Valedictorian.

Doris had worked as an Administrative Assistant at the White House in Washington, DC.

She had a beautiful singing voice and had sung professionally in the Harrisburg area, as well in several cathedrals in Washington, DC. She enjoyed traveling, and flower gardening.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, S. Leroy “Mike” Bomgardner, a sister, Frances “Peg” Miller and 2 infant sisters.

Surviving is her cousin, Marlin R. Spotts and his wife, Pat of Mechanicsburg, and her friends, Judith Daniels, Roxana Zullinger, Jean Weister, and Kay Musser.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in the Mausoleum at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
