Donald C. Weston Jr., of San Jose, CA, passed away peacefully on July 9th, 2025 at the age of 63. He was born on March 7th, 1962 in San Jose, CA. He was the son of Donald C. Weston Sr and Mary Lucille Giannobile. Don was a devoted husband of 40 years to Valerie. He was a loving father to Stephan and Megan, father-in-law to Isis and Veronica, and grandfather to Evangellinah.
Don was a hard-working man who spent 28 years working in underground construction. He was lovingly known as the “I’ll do it myself” colleague and for his love of Diet Dr. Pepper, often leaving a trail of soda cans behind at jobsites. Despite his many responsibilities, Don always made time for his family and passions. He was present at every baseball and softball game for his children, and he was a devoted wrestling coach for over 20 years.
Don was a man of integrity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Whether it was wrestling advice, hanging his nephew’s upside down by their ankles, or just sitting on the porch – he always showed up in his own way.
He enjoyed his annual trips to the California State Fair in Sacramento and the Rib Cook off in Reno. Amongst the things he most enjoyed were his Friday date nights with his beloved wife and watching reruns of every Jurassic Park movie with his children.
He is survived by his wife Valerie, children Megan and Stephan, daughter in laws Isis and Veronica, and grandchild Evangellinah. Additionally, he is survived by his mother Mary Weston, loving sister Catherine Balcazar, brother-in-law Tino Balcazar, mother-in-law Velia Santa Cruz, sister-in-law Veronica Rivera, brother-in-law Raul Rivera, and his nieces and nephews, as well as many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Donald C. Weston Sr.
A funeral service will be held on July 25th, 2025 at 11am at Lima-Campagna-Alameda Mission Chapel, with the interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. We find comfort in knowing that Don’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
