Donald Tarter

Donald Harold “Donnie” Tarter, 68 of Dry Ridge, Kentucky passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by his family.

Donnie was born on January 23, 1957, to the late Harold and Wilma (Boyatt) Tarter. He was born in Somerset, Kentucky. A skilled tool and die maker by trade, Donnie had a rare gift for figuring out how to make things work — whether it was repairing a tractor, building something from scratch, or finding a creative fix no one else would think of. If something was broken, people knew Donnie could make it right.

Although retired Donnie enjoyed working on the farm, tinkering in his shop, and spending time at home with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie (Trammell) Tarter; his children, Stephanie Rice, Stacie Tarter (Doug), and Sabrina Denny (Billy); his grandchildren, Owen, Luke, Zoey, Lucas and Molly; and his siblings, Sherrie (Mike) Lightner, Pam (Mike) Williams, and Bruce (Cindy) Tarter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Logan Bryant.

In accordance with his wishes, Donnie will be cremated, and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators of Northern Kentucky.

Donnie will be remembered for his unmatched skills, his steady work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family.
