Donald Powell

Donald Powell passed away October 1, 2025. He was 78 years old.

As an Army Veteran, Don brought history to life through intricately decorated model tanks, trains, and ships. Don had a passion for reading, historically based movies, and Chicago sports. Don should also be remembered for his long career as an English Bulldog breeder and handler, with several champion dogs throughout his career. More important than any of these things was the love he had for his mother, wife, friends, and community.

Beloved husband of Christine nee Lison; Loving son of the late Harvey and the late Bernice; Brother of Kathleen M. DeMego of MA, and Michael R. Powell of NM. Fond friend to all who knew him.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 9 AM until time of service, 11AM, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chicago Bulldog Club aka Bulldog Club of America (Chicago Chapter) would be appreciated.
