Dolores T. (Zielinski) Pangrcic, 96, of Peru, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Pavilion of Ottawa.
A prayer service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 9, 2025 at the Mueller Funeral Home, Peru followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Peru with Rev. Paul Carlson officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.
Dolores was born October 13, 1928 in LaSalle to Stanley and Agnes (Coynik) Zielinski. She married Frank Pangrcic on June 10, 1950 at St. Roch’s Church in LaSalle.
Dolores was a passionate gardener tending to her beautiful flowers. When not puttering in her yard, one could find her on her prized Schwinn bicycle cruising the neighborhood. Baking was a staple activity, from poticas, to apple strudels, to banana bread, she always had a sweet treat to share with neighbors and acquaintances. Dolores was a regular patron of the Peru Library and often had a book in hand; that is, until it was game time and the White Sox were playing. Dolores loved her up North fishing trips as well as Florida adventures with her beloved late husband and dancing partner, Frank. Where there was a polka or waltz, there was a Frank and Dolores on the dance floor, even if that dance floor was the living room.
Dolores was a beautiful, strong, independent daughter, wife, mother, and friend who will be dearly missed but forever in our hearts.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Mark Pangrcic of Archer, FL, Daniel (Mimi) Pangrcic of Fifield, WI, Kevin (Joan) Pangrcic of Troy, MI, Jean (Kevin) Suarez of San Diego, CA, and Peggy Pangrcic of LaSalle; as well as 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Agnes Zielinski; and her husband, Frank.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
